Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Massage therapy is very versatile, it is an effective stand-alone treatment for many specific conditions and for general well-being. It is also an effective complementary therapy to most other therapies. All the massage therapist at True Life are licensed massage therapist with the College of Massage Therapy of Ontario (CMTO). It is also an effective complementary therapy to most other therapies. At our clinic, we generally see improved rates of results when massage is used alongside physiotherapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture care. Therapeutic massage works by increasing circulation to injured and hypertonic areas. This helps reduce swelling by removing toxins and increases circulation as well as supplying of nutrients required for healing. Therapeutic massage helps block scar tissue and keeping the tissue more pliable or elastic. People of all ages are turning to massage therapy for relief from the everyday stress to help maintain health and wellness, to Feel Better…Live Better. Using soft-tissue manipulation techniques, massage reduces stress and fatigue by increasing relaxation and improving circulation. Depending on the style of massage, techniques may include stroking, kneading, rocking, tapping or holding steady pressure.
